Ditch the screw type engine tilter

I just tried the Oberg tilt lift removing an old Jaguar xk motor/trans. This is a long, tall, heavy powertrain that is traditionally a bit of a pain to remove. Getting it out requires you to tilt the assembly at many orientations to clear the various obstacles. The Oberg lift worked great, allowing me to adjust the tilt quickly and easily multiple times during the extraction. One caveat, I suggest you use a LONG 1/2" ratchet (18" or 20") to maintain a safe degree of leverage if you're working with a heavy engine. My setup necessitated lifting away from the CG, and there was quite a bit of weight to counter when adjusting the tilt.

Having used this, I'd never go back to the slow and limited screw-type engine leveler.
One minor peeve. It would be great if the ratchet lock were spring loaded so you could release, and it would automatically click into the next position as you turned the tilt wheel.

Did the job with no problem. Very smooth and easy to use. Would recommend this highly in lieu of using bar and chain with engine hoist.

Very helpful tool especially for a one man engine removal. Well built effective incremental angle lift. The lift is not clumsy like others in the market.
