Is What They Say

I saw this ball, that for a 2" was rated at 12k and wondered why it would be rated so high, but I ordered it anyway. The reason they give it the rating they do is that is is fine threaded so you have more thread surface holding it tight. Aside from that, it's a standard 1" shanked ball and looks good. It is a chrome finish, I'd prefer raw, but I'll take what I can get. Works good if you have one of the older type car trailers with a 2" coupler and can weigh over 7000 lbs loaded.

high strength

My trailer hitch and ball mount were only rated at 5k lbs. This ball is rated more than twice that capacity (12k). In case you need the extra strength, this may be the ball you're looking for. Price at amazon for this item is comparable to that of walmart.

Needed.

The ball was perfect, unfortunately, the cost shipping was a bit excessive. I found the exact same ball at Kmart and with todays UPS bulk shipping I could have saved an additional $5.
