Well made hitch, and easy to install.

I purchased this hitch for our Subaru Forester foremost to carry a hitch mounted bike rack and later perhaps a small trailer. The installation instructions were clear and the installation proceeded without a hitch. (Pun intended) I temporarily removed the two rear mounted mufflers to give me more room to work, then coated the upper areas of the hitch (where it contacts the body), and the areas around the body / bolt holes with undercoating to eliminate a place for corrosion to happen due to water and salt to accumulation. The installation requires two sizes of wrenches (not included)to tighten the 7/16" and 1/2" bolts, and also a flat screwdriver or nut driver or socket to remove two screws. The instruction do specify that the bolts be torqued to 50 ft-lb and 75 ft-lb respectively. A bit of drilling, filing, or grinding is required to slightly enlarge two auto body holes, but this was very easy. It took perhaps an hour or so to complete the installation. The hitch is stro ng and well built, and is load rated higher than necessary for the Forester, but for a few dollars more than lighter hitches, it inspires much more confidence. The bike rack that I installed remains very stable in the 2" hitch. I am definitely happy with this purchase.
